Wordless Wednesday - The Harms Family

The Herman & Ankea (Ufkes) Harms FamilyRestored and Colorized

Funeral Cards for
Herman & Ankea Harms

  1. Both photographs are beautiful. The restoration is gorgeous.

  2. Fantastic job on the photo restoration. I'm really interested in the Funeral Cards - we don't appear to have had them in Scotland. Are they a "keepsake" like the Order of Service from a wedding? I've noticed from Tombstone Tuesdays that US/Canadian headstones contain much less info than Scottish headstones, and am wondering if the Funeral Cards filled in the info which would be provided on a Scottish headstone. Any thoughts? Jo

  3. Those are beautiful funeral cards. How about those collars! I wonder if Ankea did the work on them. They are spectacular.

  4. The funeral cards are really awesome. They appear to be made from a hard plastic - like bakeolite (sp) - but I'm not sure if that product was available in 1902. They are actually etched into the material.

  5. You do beautiful work. I loved the video you did for smile for the camera.
Thank you for following my blog.
    You are an inspiration.

  6. Wonderful photographs. The first is beautiful by itselt, the second has another kind of beauty. Great job adding the color. The funeral cards are amazing. I've never seen any as ornate.

  7. Nice. One would want to keep the funeral card. Your work is inspirational or at least for a wannabe.
